  • Gently Apply On Stain: Pour some of the solutions into the area stained with acrylic paint that is still wet.
  • Scrub Off The Paint: Take a scrubber, dip it well into the detergent solution and use it to scrub off the paint.
  • Leave No Stain: Scrub the area until there is no more paint left.
  • Water Wash: Rinse the area with water and allow it to dry.

Here are the steps to remove dried acrylic paint forms stones:

  • Scape Off The Paint: Take a paint scraper and try to scrape off the paint as much as possible.
  • Clean The Dirt: Next, clean or vacuum the area to remove all the dirt particles.
  • Soak The Surface With Thinner Or Acetone: To soften the area with dried paint, cover the area with a towel soaked in paint thinner or acetone for an hour or two. It will keep the area moist, while the paint stripper or acetone does its job.
  • Peel Out The Paint Left: Use a paint scraper to scrape softened paint off of the concrete surface.
  • Water Wash: When all of the paint has been removed, clean the area thoroughly with soap and water to remove all products.

Vinegar is a great eco-friendly and handy acrylic paint remover. There are many varieties of vinegar. I recommend using white distilled vinegar. 

To remove the paint from the stone whether it’s dried or wet you’ll need to heat the vinegar. You can also microwave it, I guess that is safer as you should not heat the liquid till it boils. 

As the paint is removed from the concrete surface, it will bubble. Use a paint scraper to remove the loosened paint.

Can Nail Polish Remover Help In Removing Acrylic Paint From Stone?

Yes, nail polish remover helps in removing acrylic paint from stone. Nail Polish Remover can be used on surfaces such as walls, sealed stones, concrete floors, etc.

The active agent in this product is Acetone, which handles breaking down the bonds in the paint. 

Its high penetration and bond braking power make it a great option for paint removal. Nail Polish remover works best for latex-based acrylic paint.

Can You Remove Acrylic Paint From The Stoneware?

Yes, acrylic paint can be removed from stonewares without affecting their finishings. I suggest using a paint stripper, as it would work effectively without harming the finish. 

For pottery pieces completely painted over, use graffiti remover. Avoid using a nylon brush to apply these removers.

Can You Remove Acrylic Paint From The Stone Wall?

Yes, you can remove acrylic paint from stone walls. If the area you are working on is large, try using a floor grinder to remove the paint. It will get into the pores of the stones to thoroughly remove the paint. 

If you don’t want to do that, there is another alternative to remove your paint. That is to apply a thick layer of paint stripper.

It may take more than one coat of stripper to remove all the paint. It may be a lengthy process, but surely will do the work.

Can You Remove Acrylic Paint From The Stone Cottage?

Yes, you can remove acrylic paint from the stone cottage, but I guess you would need to use some help with it. As the area is large, it will take more time and effort to do so. I recommend renting a power washer in this case. 

  • Power-wash the concrete first to remove as much of the dried paint as possible.
  • You can first apply a paint stripper with a paintbrush and allow it to sit as it softens up the paint.
  • And finally, Power-wash the surface again to lift off the dried paint.

Can You Remove Acrylic Paint From Stepping Stones?

Acrylics can definitely be removed from stepping stones. I am assuming you might have used acrylic-latex paint on your stepping stones as it’s best suited for outdoor paintings. 

If so, I would recommend you try removing the paint with acetone. And use the methods I have listed above. 

Even If you’ve used some other kind of paint on your stones, it would not be hard to remove it with the steps mentioned.
